calling the same spot
2 weeks ago I stated off with a howl and had several coyotes howl back then I got on the rabbbit distress and called one in to 85 yrds and shot it, like a fool I jumped up and had 2 more come right for me they seen me and took of and I shot but missed. I heard these coyotes howl in the same spot 2 times before I went in after them, I think it may be near a den site. Has enyone had this same experience and the went back in and called them in a second time weeks later? Is it a waist of my time?

Re: calling the same spot
You can call the same coyote in the very next day as long as you didn't educate him enough. Sometimes it's a different sound that is required, sometimes it's a different set up, and sometimes it's both. I would have assume you educated them enough for them to know that sound you produced equaled danger. i would try from a complete different direction and different sound. Locating is the biggest factor that will help you determine if they are responsive to what you are doing or not.
