Re: Wyoming ADC
Yes WY has some counties that have federal trappers and some that have private county trappers
I haven't heard anything about Johnson county having any major problems they have some real good hands over there
Although it is legal to run them on sleds in WY on private land it isn't very effiecent for ADC trapper to run them on sleds and it's very dangerous.

Re: Wyoming ADC
Tim - Prairie Ghost has got it right.
I do have to say as far as Johnson County goes...good luck seeing a coyote in the northern half! He's got it pretty well controlled up there...in fact he doesn't have too many more coyotes in the fur shed than my husband and my husband has only been able to fur trap part time (but he is in Campbell County just for clarification). When the helicopter man gets here, we'll see how many more coyotes the JC guy ends up with.
I had heard that there was one sheep rancher in particular in the SOUTHERN portion (it is ran by 2 different people than the 1 in the northern portion) had a HUGE amount of sheep (around 300 adults/lambs, whatever the combination was) lost to coyotes just last summer so I'm not sure what is going on in the southern portion, but sounds like there must still be some area that there are still numerous coyotes. I know trapping isn't easy, but 300 sheep lost on ONE ranch in ONE summer?!?! That is a lot!
As far as the snowmobile thing goes I have to add to what Prairie Ghost said...it can also be quite expensive! My husband had around $300 or so worth of repairs to his sled. Of course they were thinking that it had issues before he chased down the coyote, but still. I think they said he had a chain that was cracked and then damaged a gear in his gear box...I guess it could have been more expensive to fix!
