Coyote urine mixed with fox and rabbit, deer and bobcat urine should do nicely. Start with 50% coyote and 10-20% for the others added.. good hunting...T/A..

It don't matter, its just another scent to throw the coyote off guard.... Most urines canbe purchased at a trappers supply....With the misting you are trying to over load the coyotes senses so it will stick around or come in close enough for a good shot...

There are times when misting might have its place and time but 99% of the time all you need to do is have yourself in the right location and shoot the coyote before it gets down wind of you. I look at it like this: why in the world would i want to carry a bottle of misting spray with the rest of the gear i need to carry to do something that is simple as setting up so if the coyote does want to come in downwind i can shoot it before he gets there. If it adds confidence for you then more power to you.

What part of the country are you calling in?

Coyotes will not be spooked by the smell of bobcats regardless if they are native to your area or not.

Funny, I wrote something about so called misting on the internet close to 9-10 years ago on PM and the old Shade Tree. It was one of the little secrets the old California Varmint Callers used at night for coyotes heading downwind, at night they almost always do that. Nobody ever heard of it before, now it's in a magazine? lol.
Coyotes usually hang out about 150 yards or so at night and sometimes don't stop tell they get downwind and get a wiff of that rabbit urine aka misting. The first time I heard of adding coyote urine to the rabbit urine was maybe 20 years ago, ( where did fox, bobcat and deer come from? ) but the idea of misting had been around since the 60s. The guy that was supposed to have invented the idea ( lets just call him Rick O ) I have known for the last 35 years and maybe the best predator hunter in the country, but that's another story.
Misting was not used during the day that I ever heard of until recent years. In the right place at the right time, it's another tool that believe it or not, works. Anything that works on coyotes is worth trying, has nothing to do with confindence, it either works or it don't.
My formula use to be 50% rabbit urine and 50% coyote urine mixed with 50% water and strained really good so it would go through the aerator in a mist form. The mist well be carried quit a ways out, usually right to the coyotes nose.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It don't work like deer bombs. In the magazine artical Gerry Blair spoke of it, the guy that wrote the story Rich Higgins has no reason to lie. The information is free, it don't cost a thing. Nobody is trying to make money off of it like coyote and deer bombs. That's a joke, misting is not.

Good points. On the other hand, they have elongated noses like deer for a reason.Makes one wonder if they smell man, coyote piss, and whatever else is misting by.I suspect they do but like anyone else I know, haven't figured out how to ask them.I'm an old dude as well and never 'forget the wind and just hunt'.
Good hunting.

Dcoy, they smell you through all the coyote and rabbit urine, no way you're going to fool a coyotes nose, but it can be confused. Yeah, I always try to use the wind to my advantage, but sometimes that don't even help.
Being older is sure not what I thought it would be. They call it the golden years, it's more like the tarnished years. What surprised me was how fast you get older lol.

I agree with oldDude. The wind direction is the most important. Misting...I may try it.
