I say I'll be right there.Grab the 243 and we drive by.Nothing.Drive to the section line,turn around and start back slowly.There's ol 'wiley'standing in some CRP about 250 yds away.I stop and start trying to get the rifle out the window but struggle to get the auto window just right for resting on.Wiley takes off,and the neighbor is saying 'shoot' but I wait.Ol wiley gets about 325-350 and stops near the crest,turns broadside,and looks at us.Bang/flop.Big male.Got a few ticks walking out there but sweet deal.

Yeh Terry,love that window technique but rarely get to use it.Suppose I should add for our friends in 'civilization'that its perfectly legal out here.

The stop,spit shoot came back in the early 90s we were on an archery antelope hunt in wy. we were shootin prairie dogs when the guide said gota go ____ just wounded a deer so flying around in his truck he ended up finding and chasing this deer while we and or bows bounced all over hell he slammed on the brakes my buddys headcracked the window he grabbed a rifle.jumped out spit and shot the deer with chew running down his chin very funny but we did leave the next day not for me
