Ballistol

I'm trying to find a thread that discussed this product.I thought it was here???Maybe by Xdeano???Anyway I can't find it in reloading or anywhere so maybe it was on another site but does anyone use it?How?(patches?Brush?Both?Barrel only?Does it 'freeze' in cold weather?)
Does it 'coat' a barrel sort of like 'moly'?(Don't want to open the 'moly' can of worms again though)
All comments concerning the use of this product very much appreciated.

Ballistol is the best oil that i've ever used. I have gone through a lot of it in semi-auto shotguns, pistols, rifles and just about anything that squeeks or moves. This stuff is 100 times better than you typical gun oil and a million times better that wd-40. All of the things that they say about it on their site is completely true. I've seen studies that have been done on metals and rusting in salt water and it retards rust better than anything else.

On semiauto guns, just spray on a thin mist on the action barrel etc, rub it around a little then take a clean dry rag and wipe as much off as you can, the oil actually embeds into the metal.

For bolt action just spray on a think mist on all metal parts, wipe off so you can't feel it. In the barrel I run one patch with ballistol through the barrel twice, action to muzzle. Then take a clean patch and run it through to wipe out the excess.

Once you start using it you'll never use anything else. buy it by the case. They have it in an arisol can, and in just a regular jug type container. buy the arisol one, you can get it everywhere you want.

As far as cold weather, I've had a lot of different gun oils get gummy and stop opperation of the bolt. With Ballistol i've used it in some cold nasty stuff and i've never had any problems.

It definitely isn't like moly, when a bullet goes through the barrel it will burn off all the oil just like you would have happen with conventional oil.

I've tried to turn as many people on to it as i can because it's so good.

Thats what I needed right there-someone reliable that has experience with it.Pretty much what I'd recently been told but from a source I didn't know much about.

Only thing that keep semi-auto shotguns operating smooth and quick in cold weather. Only thing that keeps ARs operating....period!

I use it on everything from my muzzleloaders to fishing reels to odd jobs around the house.

I have yet to find it locally.

I get it through midway. I use the non-aerosal 16 oz can, lasts a few years.
