The plastic dipp comes in a dipping container or spray can.. I recondmend the dip container and then apply it with a paint brush.. The more coats you apply the easier it is to get off later if you want youre shoes to look pretty in the off season. Just grab and peel.. I also use it on the bottom of my wooden shoes to help reduce the wear and then reapply it when needed...

Thats it my shoes go in for a paint job and spray the bottoms of them with contact cement That shit sticks to anything, and it will hold up over a little rough stuff

As far as being the ugly one of the hunting party, Thats the exact reason I hunt with .22-250AI. I send him to the farmers door (Mr. prim and proper-pretty boy ) And while all those hard working farmers are out doing the chores, the misses is the one that he is able to talk all sweet to, and gain us permission... We would have more stands in some days if old pretty boy wasn't in having coffee and cookies with the ladie of the house I got one word to describe this old boy..

you made mention back in Dec that papapete has the army type of snow shoe i was wondering what kind of food straps he has. i got the ones that are once you put them on you are to wear them until you die. you've heard the phrase of dying with your boots on well for me it would be these snow shoes if i don't find another set up. also where could i get them. i live in the southeastern corner of ND. we don't have one of those Dicks sporting goods, bass pro shop. do have scheels & a few other sporting goods places up in fargo.you can contact me thru my email tangomohre@yahoo.com. does he use a walking stick too with those... thanks for your help

Both myself and Papapete have the army issue magnesium type shoes. He uses Bob Maki rubber bindings. They work really well. You just pull them over your feet (stretch them). Lyonch uses the same ones I believe. I have heard that sometimes you can find them at Mills Fleet Farm in Fargo.

I could not find those bindings so I got some Faber bindings at Cabelas. Here is what they look like:

I have heard good things about them and they seem to be easy and quick to put on and off. They were very easy to install. I haven't tried them hunting yet (haven't had to use them yet--even with 25 inches of snow in the last blizzard!)...but I did wear them in the yard when snowraking my roof off to get on top of the 25 inches of powder. They seemed to hold really solid while working in the yard around the house. I think they will be quality!

If you're looking for the military snow shoes, I saw a pile of them in the Fleetfarm in Alexandria,MN over the Newyears. They also had the bob maki rubber bindings there for about $25.00. I'm guessing that the fargo store will have some too.

I recently noticed Alaskan frame shoes at Fleet Farm In Fergus Falls. They were $109 (I think), which is a dang low price for Alaskans. They probably aren't ash frames and not quite the material quality of Iverson or Country Ways, but they appeared durable enough. You can identify Alaskans as being 10" wide and 54" standard length with a rounded/curved-up toe and a long narrow tail.

The Alaskans were the same price in the Roch. Fleet Farm and the FF brand aluminum ones were on sale for around 90. I almost bought a pair for the GF but didn't. I use the Ojibwas I made back in high school, I love them mostly cause I made them. But want something a little smaller in size, (so they fit in my beater car) better.
