I was out the other day snooping around in the country. It wasn't the nicest day out , but these things were out and on the move. It was in a small dogtown and now they don't have to worry about getting through the Winter. Daryl, this picture is for you. I saved a few for you the next time you come down
Jerry there is something wrong with you buddy. Did you find them at one of you honey holes you were checking out when I was there? You can have them they give me the damn willies..
I would rather have a slow hit than a fast miss...
That looks like a good time. I've got a bag full of them up here too. I still haven't found anything to do with them though. I though about making a set of ear rings and giving them to my mother in law. She hates snakes.

When my Grandaughter was about 3yrs. old she got into some rattles my son had. She must have thought they were candy. My Son caught her eating one of them and she had black shit all over her face. Enough to make you sick huh

Jerry I believe it was the weekend of the 10th a guy in the office got his dog bit down on the grasslands, 29 degrees that day. I have killed them in every month of the year here.
Randy Roade,
Jerry ran in to those snakes over at a spot there are a lot of coyotes with virgin ears. He said something about saving the location for when a friend named Daryl comes up to call coyotes. Mighty nice of Mr. Hunsley to save a hot spot like that for a friend.
Randy, the key is to have a sunny day with not much wind. They come out and lay inside of the hole near the top to catch those rays of sun. I have seen them out when the air temperature is in the 20ties also.
These are some I got a couple years ago.
Jerry your still a crazy ol' fart Yuck I can't beleive you go after them.. Thank God I had you or Randy there to save me if and when I ran into one. Rich did Jerry really say that? I might have to make a trip back to good old SD sooner than I planned

I was sticking my hand into a hole at a base of a sage looking for a couple of missing coyote pups. 4 dogs fighting over the hole and I did not notice the Prairie rattler curled up above the hole. just about got it. if not for the dogs distracting the snake I would have gotten popped. The other trapper heard him and got him with the shovel. Another time I was on my knees putting in a fence snare, grabbed a old post beside me to move it over, picked it up and had a 10" rattler curled up under it. Had a buddy get bit this spring while checking my snares.............got to keep your eyes and ears open when picking a spot to sit when calling.
My buddy from Pierre is good at putting me on them.Takes him about 10 minutes to find one for me.I really feel comforted by the fact they occasionally are in his garage as well.I'm not a fan of any snake.
