Homebrew bi-pods or shooting sticks

I'd like to make a set of shooting sticks that attach to my gun but still want to be able to use the swivel for a sling. Has anybody done this? Pics would be good here too!

just punch in another stud on the forestock. just cost a couple of bucks for another one. mount the bipod to one and the sling to the other. Harris bipods have a sling attach point as well.

i have never made any that attach to the gun, but i have made several sets of shooting stix. i use 2 3/4in dowel rods and put a bolt in them about 4in down from the top. on the bottom i cut the heads off of a couple of nails then drill holes and glue them into the end. next get some spray paint and make them camo. the nail sticking out the end will stick in about anything but granite.

yep, thats kinda how i do it also. if you want to attach it to the gun, screw a piece of innertube rubber two the top and stretch it over the barrel-forarm. not real transportable but works in certain conditions

I second that thought coyotehunter! One thing that I've learned about hunting in general, no matter what kind of hunting you do. By the time you put in all the time and effort, then remodify your first attempt to save a buck, might just as well bought yourself what you wanted in the first place

When it comes to having the right gear in the feild, it makes a world of difference. I value the time I get in the feild, and don't want to miss out on even one chance at a critter, because I tried to save a buck I don't have unlimited funds by any means, but small things like a good bi-pod (Harris, IMO) are worth a little extra money
