New to Coyote Hunting

I am just kind of getting started at coyote hunting. I found a place where there are coyotes. I can hunt there. My cousin and I went out the other night and I tried calling for about 45 min. Saw and heard nothing. We are in NW Ohio. It was about 5 or maybe 0 w/ windchill. I don't know if we were out to early, (it was about 7pm, and I know we usually hear them later on toward 10 or even midnight). Also the call I am using is supposed to be a wounded squirrel (which I don't think sounds much like anything I"ve ever hear, though I've never heard a wounded squirrel!).

Any tips, suggestions, I would appreciate! I'd like to be successful the next time or so that I go out...I figure I've got plenty to learn, though.

Pickaway is in the middle of Ohio. I am up in the NW, about an hour from Toledo.

I probably wouldn't stay that long on stand this time of year 25 mins would be plenty unless you KNOW that there are coyotes that can hear you. Try to locate the coyotes before calling. There is some great threads on here about locating if you look them up.
