Here is a good picture of why guys in the control bussiness use the larger calibers to reduce cripples. This coyote was shot leaving the sheep in the morning with it's mate at about 350yds with my 22-6mm. She made it about 10yds and this is what i walked up on.

Good god fella are you sure you shot that one!! It looks like you threw a hand gernade at her   I know last weekend levi shot a pup that was quartering away and well we tried picking it up and he hit it low in the belly and you could see up in the little guys chest cavity  There was no way anybody could salvage that one. Any ways good job on the long shot and keep piling them up!!!!!

Ya they are alittle soft in the belly area not a good place to shoot a coyote if you are in the fur business.

Nice! You are right in that your control methods are different than hunting for fur.

For what it's worth, last year my top dollar coyote was a 40 dollar coyote that I shot on the Sheyenne River. I hit him low and back in the stomach area with my 243 and had an 11 inch gash in it. Sewed it all up nice and tight and Dusty still gave me 40 bucks. It can be fixed if you put the effort into it. Prairie Ghost that class you guys had helped me on that one.

both coyotes shot under 125 yards with a .22-6MM, 69 gr BTHP @ 3500 fps, very accurate load, does very well in the wind, not fur friendly at all.

Good thing I can't post photos,my 220 improved at 4300 fps hurts em pretty bad some times.Makes it hard to drag with parts loose.
