I have this posted on MPH too so if you've been there you know the drill!

How was the mange in your coyotes this season? Did you see more ,less, or the same?

I heard ND had some bad mange going thru it a couple years ago is that true?

Mange, not broke out rubbed stuff, but scaly skin, stick tail mange.

Brad and Jamie I have heard out there it is pretty evident in areas also.

Also are either one of you near Mel Utter? Mel used to work for us.

I didn't see any coyotes with mange In the Eastern Part of ND. The farther west you got the more coyotes with mange appeared. I know thats due to the fact that there are higher density of coyotes. All in all I wasn't concerned this year with the amount of mange in the coyotes.

in North Dakota in the past 6 years of tournaments I would say I have seen through out the state a 10 -14 percent of the coyotes turned in. not to say that some townships are plus or minus that number. I have some pockets over here but not bad. I work right next to Mel U. in the same county. ours is split up with 70,000 head of sheep. Mel is a great guy. Glad I have met him.

I know the guys in central minnesota that run the coyotes with dogs have been complaining about mange. One group that runs them at my cabin said that there season was approximately 70% mange last year and about 60% this year. I know this guy and his group shoot around 250 coyotes a year as a group. As levi mentioned it seemed like that farther west we go for the tournaments the more mangy ones we saw turned in.
