We set traps Thursday afternoon and pulled them Sunday afternoon. It's been a long time since I've trapped that hard it was a lot of fun. I'm way out of shape and I found a few muscles I haven't used in awhile.

For four days, that is just a butt-kickin' pile of fur!

where are you able to get all those coon and badger this time of the year. Ours are all holed up this time of year. How many sets?

Not all the coon were trapped some were hunted. All are from the past week or so. It's starting to warm up and everything is on the prowl. We had around 20 coon sets and 25 beaver sets.

we also caught few skunks. It went from lower teens midweek to over 60 on Sunday a lot of the places we trap beaver have open water. What do you do with skunks? Does it ruin a set? Neither my cousin or I can stand the smell so we shoot them and leave them for a few days and then return and get the traps.

I don't know where the badger came from my cousin had got it. I talked to my cousin on the phone last night and he put more traps out and had caught 5 more coon so they are not holed up here. I plan on doing some more trapping this weekend with him hopefully it works out and I'll have another pile of coons.

I do not mind catching skunks at my sets. If you have the stomach for it you can make some money with the pelt and the essence. You can cut them up and throw them in your dirt hole or just pitch them up wind of your trap. Every predator out there will come and check out a skunk. coyotes will eat them right up.

I didn't know that skunks were good bait. We actually caught a few in some bobcat sets we had. Do bobcats mind them?

I have always heard that skunks are good with any predator set. I am pretty focused on coyotes but I would not be worried about a skunk in any of my sets. Including cat sets.

Leave them around the set up wind. One of my sets this year i caught a skunk in first and them caught a bobcat in that set the next two checks. In my books it just adds to the attraction

I'll do that. Bobcat season closed yesterday so we'll have to wait till next year.
