Hey guys, a buddy of mine is looking for a varmint gun, no specific caliber just left handed. Hes was thinking a heavy barrel in anything smaller. .223, .22-250, .243...... I told him just to build one, but you still need an action and I think thats a little out of his price range to go high end. He is open to most brands ( tough to find left handed) If you know of any in your area or even someone who has one let me know, Thanks guys!!!

He has been checking the pawn shops and local gun shops, coming up with junk that is way to much money! I put the word out on this site and a couple other places and came up with at least 14 guns already   Some real nice stuff ( like Dcoys gun) so at least he has some options now... Thanks again guys.

Opti,
I would suggest maybe a Savage. They make almost everything in a left-handed version and right out of the box, seem to shoot scary good. I have a Savage 16 Weather Warrior in 22-250 and it shoots excellent. Its as easy as calling the nearest Cabelas, putting down a CC number for deposit, and maybe a week later, it will be in the store and just go pick it up. I would have him at least try to handle a right handed one to check out the feel of it but otherwise, your looking at a really good shooting rifle for about 600-650.00. I tried an A-bolt which was the nicest handling, fitting and felling rifle I have ever owned but it would shoot great one day and aweful the next.

Otherwise being a lefty is tough.

Good luck!

Jaybic

That is one of the options he is considering, he kinda wants new. You look at the gun that decoy has, yes its used but its tried and true and already has load data, plus its got a better barrel. And someone that is willing to work with a guy on reloading info on a gun is one step ahead.... Don't know what he is going to do, sucks to have options......

Opti,
I agree with Jaybic that Savage is a good option. In fact Jaybic and I have discussed them before.I have a lefty in 22-250 that is very accurate and enjoyable to shoot.(model 10 Predator-only one I've seen in left handed)Only complaint I've had is that once in awhile if I'm in a hurry and get violent with the bolt, the next shell does not feed from the detachable clip.If smooth and slow,no problem.
