A good start !!!

Left town at Noon ( honeydoo's and work had us bogged down ) Well weather was stable 20 deg with 5 to 10 MPH NW wind.
We set up on the first stand Optimax send me to the down wind ( I didn't argue....) started out with distress and after a couple of sets my guide lets me know he has a visual with a couple of lip squeaks.. I never see the first one because I'm too buisy dropping the hammer on my first dog of the year as he is slipping downwind. 50 GR V-Max @ 3950 ish Bang- Wap then flop.
Optimax lets loose with the Ki-Yi ! He never seen the coyote I just dumped.
After a couple of Ki-Yi's Optimax switches back to distress and here comes the female !!! She circles way down wind and I was worried she would catch a wiff of us or her dead life partner, she dropped into a low spot giving me a perfect chance to set up. As soon as she looked over the hill at us from almost directly downwind she caught a 50 Gr V-max in the throat.
Double up on first stand !! this is going to be a good day....
On down the road to the next spot, we set up on a big hill overlooking a huge pasture/CRP valley and Optimax begins the distress cries. It wasn't long until my guide again lets loose with the lip squeaks and here he comes another big male he comes to 100 YDS and begins to circle downwind @ 45 yds he gets a load of dead coyote from my 12 gauge. He drops and we hope for another double and continue calling.
This is where it gets fun... Shotgunned coyote comes back alive !! and has no interest in self preservation instead he wants to BITE ME !! 45 YDS is fast disapearing as he is growling and every hair on his body is sticking straight up ( very impressive from my position ! ) He locked eyes with me and is coming FAST...
This made for an interesting conversation with Optimax and me, I think he wants to bite me, no way, yep he's coming fast, SHOOT HIM ! 3" Steel T's at 5 YDS to the face isn't pretty but worked.
Couple more stands with no action then the last stand of the day the Batchler pad we set through a long stand to have three coyotes respond with the big male only wanting to come within range after we give up any chances of doubling up again he gets the V- Max treatment as well.
THAT MAKES FOR A GOOD DAY !!
