22 mag for coyotes

i got me some primo coyote property this weekend the owner will only let me use rimfire only no highpower and no shot gun so im thinking of getting a 22 mag but dont know wich one either a savage with a heavy barrel or a marlin with heavy barrel but the real tough one is what ammo type/grain to use any one ever use a magnum for a coyote gun and what type of ammo and what range did u kill it at i figure if a keep my shot within 120yds i should be ok

if i was forced to use one i'd try like hell to keep shots under 75 prefferably 50 yards and limit them to only solid chest or broadside head shots. no eceptions. i've not shot many with mine but have had no drt's stick with a 40-45 grainer. they are ok for fox.

That's a shame that would be nice to have for a kid to learn on. I can understand the anger part though!! :lol:

IMHO, a 22 mag is more than capable of making kill shots out to 200 yds. A 22mag has more than a 90 lbs of energy out to 200 yds, and closer to 160 lbs of energy at a 100 yds. I checked CCI and the numbers are right, Hornady even being hotter!
