Pilgrim, i pussed out big time

. went through the instructions and got a bit overwhelmed.

called up your man ,greg and asked him if i sent them back if he would do the lacing. he gave me a good price and i'm shipping them back for him to do. i'm a carpenter but the tedious things are not my bag. thanks again for hooking me up to a quality pair and the over-the-phone advice. i hope they turn out well.

Hey Bucks
Can't say I wasn't tempted to bring them back to Greg. I trust Greg will make it very quick & convenient (and low cost) for you- yours will also end up perfectly laced. If you'd like them white, spray them with Kilz before you send them.
Let me know when you're ready for the varnishing. I used Rustoleum's Marine Spar Varnish. One quart will cover a pair of shoes with plenty extra for touch ups down the road. I applied 4 coats and mixed about 2 Tablespoons of white oil-based paint into the varnish per application. They turned out white, anyway.

Cool. Did you start varnishing yet?
I used a $13 quart of Rust-oleum Marine Spar Varnish. I think I applied four coats total (used less than 1/2 quart), then about 30 days of drying... As Greg says, "They're done drying when they're done stinking."
