ok so me and a good friend of mine have been hunting for two years now. S>O>B coyotes in southern illinois are hard to find.. we hunt ground were he farms year round and sees them all the time but when it comes to hunting we may se them we may not. just wondering if their are any body on here that hunt in illinois and alway looking for some help thanks

cant believe all the effort a person makes to hunt a coyote with no luck and guess what .... had a big ice storm,whole town without power so was out at my dad place were we had wood stove heat.. get up that morning 715 am look out back door and their you have it, 45yds nice large coyote sneak out back door with browning 44mag lever action rifle and bust him, dead dog

seems like most places east of the mississippi have plenty of coyotes but just not real willing to come to a call/

yep i believe their is alot of them around but i cant master the art...wish i could hook up with a few guys who are good at it in our area who could teach me some good things... idk if a person should hunt nite time daytime morning evening or what really wanting to good alot better at it but get so damn discouraged sometime i think im just dumb

i have never personally heard of anyone person that has called in and killed lots of coyotes in the east. just stay after them and don't expect to have the #'s as guys in the west. take what ya get even if it seems futile

i have had most of my luck at night with a full moon and snow on and i live in southern indiana evansville area
if there is no snow early morning too noon ive never called one in in the afternoon but thats not to say u cant
but im like u ive only been yote hunting for two years now or so

i agree best we have done is nite time or early morning till bout 9am..never call one during the day.although we never have good luck on the brite nites..last year i called in 5 dogs in one spot after shooting at 2 of them. this year we have yet to call in a dog im not sure what the deal is ..

gona try this weekend... wonder if the fact that it is supposed to warm up to the mid to high 40's gona be a good thing or a bad thing

thats yet to been seen ive call them in warm and cold weather

well we went friday nite hunted for 3 hours didnt see a darn thang
